Tires
The three main types of tires are regular or bias ply, belted, and radial. Today the majority of tires sold are radial tires. Radial tires tend to have better traction than other types of tires. Radial tires are designed for a broad range of driving conditions. Choose the tires that best match your driving needs. All-Season-Tires are designed to provide acceptable handling in a wide variety of driving conditions and are a good choice for most people. These tires have a long tread life and provide a comfortable ride. High Performance Tires High performance tires are designed for vehicles that travel at high rates of speed and are rated for speed. Typically they have a speed rating of H or higher. High performance tires provide excellent handling and traction. Tire companies have developed entry level high performance tires with speed ratings of S and T, if you only want the look of high performance tires. S and T speed rated tires are considerably cheaper, they have a longer tread life and warranty, and a better quality ride. The tire store or tire manufacturer can provide more information on tire speed ratings.
